BHP 620 - Evidence-Based Clinical Practice

Building on BHP 501, BHP 560, and BHP 521, this course will introduce students to evidenced-based approaches, tools, and techniques for common mental health issues seen in clinical practice. Cognitive-behavioral approaches are emphasized, but not to the exclusion of other approaches. Students will evaluate the empirical support for said treatments, learn and demonstrate the associated clinical techniques. Students are expected to demonstrate efficiency in the diagnostic process, including differential diagnosis, and the utilization of the DSM (introduced in BHP 521) when conceptualizing cases and developing treatment plans that demonstrate evidence-based clinical practice.
