NRS 504 - Pharmacology for Nurses

This course is a hybrid course for the MSN-DE student. This course addresses the science of pharmacology. The student will examine human disease mechanisms, biologic processes, medication therapy, alternative treatments and important nursing and patient considerations. Students explore the utilization of major pharmacologic and therapeutic classifications; physiologic effects of pharmacotherapeutic agents; pharmacokinetics; pharmacodynamics, medication safety, and patient education. This course also prepares the MSN-DE student to examine personal values in patient decision pharmacological interventions .
