This course studies management of information technology from a business leader’s perspective. The primary focus of the business technology leader must be the business goals of the organization and the application of technology to create competitive advantage for the organization. Operational, tactical and strategic directions are discussed with the understanding that advances in technology requires leaders to continually adapt and pivot. Strategic technology trends are reviewed and assessed for potential impact on the business environment. The role of head of IT is explored as it has transformed from purveyor of back-office computer services to enabler of digital and AI-enabled business models.
