BHP 610 - Trauma Informed Clinical Practice 3 Hour(s)
This course addresses the need to approach clinical practice through a trauma-informed lens and prepares students to establish a trauma-informed clinical practice that is inclusive of and considers the individual, community-level, and sociopolitical trauma experienced by client populations. Students develop a foundational skill set that provides a safe, supportive patient space regardless of trauma history while gaining an introduction to models of trauma and trauma recovery. Building off suicide assessment skills introduced in BHP 520 , students will develop proficiency in suicide assessment and intervention. Complex trauma-related situations and disorders and associated intervention implications are also addressed.
