This course will examine experimental and non-experimental research designs appropriate to evaluate treatments and programs in applied settings. Students will learn to identify the statistical analyses to apply to different designs. Foundational concepts such as probability, distribution, central tendency, and variance will be reviewed, followed by parametric and nonparametric tests such as t-tests, one-way ANOVA, two-way ANOVA, correlation, linear regression, chi-square, and effect sizes. Legal and ethical considerations in research and evaluation are addressed. Application of concept will occur primarily in lab.
