BHP 521 - Psychopathology and Diagnosis 3 Hour(s)
The social-biological etiology of mental disorders across the lifespan are examined. Students will learn the diagnostic features of major mental health diagnoses in adults and children per the DSM-V criteria along with appropriate treatment options. The history of definitions/diagnoses of abnormal behavior will be explored, and the current diagnostic system critiqued. Competent utilization of the intake interview MSE, biopsychosocial history, mental history, and appropriate psychological assessment for diagnosis and treatment planning are addressed.
