BHP 590 - Family and Partner Psychotherapy 3 Hour(s)
This course introduces students to the theories, methods, and clinical skills relevant in family, systems, and relational therapies. A brief overview of historical approaches to family and partner theory is provided, although the primary focus is on modern systemic approaches. The primary emphasis of the course is to assist students in the application of theory to clinical practice. Students are challenged to assess, set goals, and plan the treatment of family/partner clients via relevant theories. Intervention strategies and skills relevant to the theories are practiced.
