Master of Business Administration Certificate Programs

The MBA Certificate is housed in the MBA Program in the School of Business.  The MBA Program Director, who reports to the Dean of the School of Business, is the chief administrator of the program reporting to the Dean of the School of Business.  The MBA Program graduate faculty are responsible for development and assessment of the MBA certificate curriculum.

Each of the six (6) MBA ceritifcates consists of four (4) courses with twelve (12) credits.  The MBA certificates are as follows:


Business Management Graduate Certificate

(Courses: BUS 600  , BUS 605  , BUS 615  , BUS 625 )  

This certificate is designed for individuals interested in furthering their management skills in the workplace.  It is intended to provide a better understanding of important functional areas of management in a business firm.  The specific core courses include managerial economics, marketing management, business law, and management dynamics of the firm.                                                                                        Admission requirement: Undergraduate coursework in either principles of microeconomics or principles of macroeconomics
 

Financial and Supply Chain Management Graduate Certificate

(Courses: BUS 610  , BUS 620  , BUS 635  , BUS 640 

This certificate is designed for individuals interested in furthering their quantitative skills in the workplace.  It is intended to provide a better understanding of the financial and accounting data used in a business setting.  The specific core courses include quantitative methods, accounting, supply chain management, and financial decision-making.                                                                                                  Admission requirement: Undergraduate coursework in introductory accounting and statistics
 

Business Analytics Graduate Certificate

(Courses: BUS 610  , BUS 670  , BUS 672  , BUS 674 )

This program is designed to take your interest in data analysis and help you develop a coherent set of skills and form a perspective on making decisions with data and explaining them effectively.  The certificate coursework emphasizes designing data analytic business questions, running analyses, and building actionable conclusions from the results.  The certificate can jump start a change in career to data analytics or provide a manager supervising analysts new insights on how to use and deploy analysis in their organization.  The certificate includes core statistical analysis, predictive analytics, location intelligence, and data visualization.  Each student will complete a major project to complete the certificate.
 

Healthcare Administration Graduate Certificate

(Courses:  HCA 680  , HCA 682  , HCA 684  , HCA 686 )

The four-course Healthcare Administration certificate is designed for individuals interested in gaining further knowledge of healthcare management and leadership.  Through this certificate program, participants will investigate core areas of healthcare administration such as finance and budgeting, quality improvement, and information technology.  In addition, participants will investigate legal, ethical, and political areas that often affect healthcare decision making.  At the completion of this certificate, participants will be prepared to function as a manager or leader within healthcare organizations. 

Admission requirement:  Undergraduate coursework in introductory accounting and statistics
 

Healthcare Data Analytics Graduate Certificate

(Courses:  BUS 610  , BUS 670  , BUS 672  , HCA 686 )

The four-course Healthcare Data Analytics certificate is designed for individuals interested in analyzing healthcare data.  Through this certificate program, participants will apply analytical techniques such as visualization, statistics, and predictive analytics to a variety of projects involving healthcare data.  At the completion of this certificate, participants will be prepared to perform descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics to support healthcare decision making.                                                                     

Admission requirement:  Undergraduate coursework in introductory statistics
 

Healthcare Informatics and Technology Graduate Certificate

(Courses:  BUS 610  , BUS 672  , HCA 684  , HCA 686 )

The four-course Healthcare Informatics and Technology certificate is designed for individuals interested in gaining further knowledge of healthcare information technology and the data within these systems.  Through this certificate program, participants will use healthcare information technology and analyze data to improve clinical care and operations through a variety of projects.  At the completion of this certificate, participants will be prepared to use and evaluate healthcare information technologies and perform descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics on data obtained from these technologies.            Admission requirement:  Undergraduate coursework in introductory statistics.
