NRS 1000 - Introduction to Basic Nursing Skills 1 Hour(s) This course will provide the pre-requisite knowledge nursing students need to be successful in future nursing courses. Students will demonstrate competence in basic nursing assistant level knowledge, skills and abilities through lecture course activities, demonstrations, and skills practice. The topics explored include, communication and interpersonal skills, infection control, safety, and emergency procedures, promoting patient independence, and patient rights. Students will be eligible to apply and sit for the CNA certification exam after completing this course and NRS 2351, and 40 hours of direct patient clinical hours in NRS 3351.
