ATH 5412 - Foundations of Athletic Training

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the foundational principles and practices in athletic training and sports medicine. Students will develop essential skills and knowledge for recognizing, managing and preventing common injuries associated with physical activity, with a focus on injury prevention, acute care, and management strategies. Topics include an overview of healthcare roles in sports medicine, injury prevention strategies and fundamental care methods. Emphasis is placed on the collaborative nature of sports medicine, preparing students to contribute as part of a healthcare team in various settings.
