Program Description
The Environmental Education Minor prepares students to be environmentally literate and develop into responsible decision makers, active community members and leaders, and educators who can increase public awareness of environmental issues. Students minoring in environmental education work to increase the awareness and knowledge of environmental issues at the local, national, and international level to help people make informed and responsible choices. Environmental education is an interdisciplinary field which draws from the natural sciences and humanities. This minor is recommended for you if you are interested in developing and sharing your environmental knowledge and skills with others.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Environmental Education Minor, students will:

Explore and develop their personal values on environmental issues.

Expand their level of environmental literacy.

Apply effective methods and acquired skills to best educate and inform the public on environmental concepts and issues.

Introductory Natural Science Course - Choose 1 course (4 credits)
NOTE: Must take the laboratory component if applicable.
Sociology/Ethics Course - Choose 1 course (4 credits)
Advanced Natural Science Course - Choose 1 course (3-4 credits)
NOTE: Must take the laboratory component if applicable.
