OTH 663 - Interventions in Pediatrics and Developmental Dysfunction II 3 Hour(s)
This course will expand knowledge relative to neurodevelopmental, sensory integrative, visual perceptual, biomechanical, human occupation, psychosocial, and coping intervention strategies in occupational therapy for pediatric and developmentally delayed populations. The focus will be on the application of neurophysiological principles, sensorimotor learning, and performance. Specific intervention strategies relating to advanced pediatric practice including feeding, neuromuscular interventions, modalities, and splinting for pediatrics will be presented with consideration of injury, neurological, and developmental disabilities. The integration of frames of reference and specific practice approaches will be integrated throughout the applied treatment interventions.
SU Prerequisite(s): Good standing in the Master of Occupational Therapy Program
