BHP 620 - Evidence-Based Clinical Practice 2 Hour(s)
Building on BHP 501 Practical Research Design and Statistics for Clinicians and BHP 560 Theories of Behavior and Change, this course will introduce students to evidenced-based clinical practice. Students will learn empirically-supported treatment tools and techniques for common mental health disorders seen in clinical practice, and be challenged with balancing such treatments with unique client needs and contexts. Cognitive-behavioral approaches are emphasized. Students will evaluate the empirical support for said treatments, learn and demonstrate the associated clinical techniques, and develop treatment plans and evaluate their effectiveness in individual clients.
Lecture Prerequisite(s): BHP 501 Practical Research Design and Statistics for Clinicians, BHP 560 Theories of Behavior and Change, BHP 521 Psychopathology and Diagnosis (BHP 521 can be taken concurrently)
