NRS 531 - Nursing and Mental Health Care 2 Hour(s)
This course is a hybrid course for the MSN-DE student. This course focuses upon the theoretical principles of psychiatric/mental health nursing and on practical foundations for assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating within psychiatric/mental health situations to promote health. The course examines measures for identifying, supporting and fostering the abilities of individuals, families, groups, and communities to cope and assist mentally unhealthy individuals to higher levels of function and quality of life. This course also prepares the MSN-DE student to develop a holistic approach to self-awareness and self-care behaviors.
