GRD 106 - Introduction to Graphic Design 4 Hour(s) GRD106 focuses on the foundational elements and principles of graphic design. Students expand their design knowledge and visual communication vocabularies through research, introductory design thinking strategies, and exploration of digital and analogue tools. Course topics place an emphasis on color theory and typography in print and digital media. Students learn to interpret and respond to creative briefs through step-by-step exercises and assignments. The class highlights influential historical and contemporary designers, the role of graphic designers, composition principles, color theory, typography, problem-solving techniques, file preparation and presentation topics.
