BIO 462 - Conservation Biology 4 Hour(s) Using basic and applied science, students will explore how populations, communities and ecosystems are managed and preserved in the face of ever-growing threats from human activities. We will also explore the ideas of resilience and resistance of biological systems to outside influence, including how natural systems recover with and without intervention. The functioning of biological systems will be placed into the context of human influence, philosophical approaches and ethics. Field trips may replace some classes.
