BHP 610 - Trauma Informed Clinical Practice 3 Hour(s)
This course addresses the need to approach clinical practice through a trauma-informed lens and prepares students to establish a trauma-informed clinical practice that is inclusive of and considers the individual, community-level, and sociopolitical trauma experienced by patient populations. Students develop a foundational skill set that provides a safe, supportive patient space regardless of trauma history while gaining an introduction to models of trauma and trauma recovery. Complex trauma-related disorders and treatment implications are also addressed.
Lecture Prerequisite(s): BHP 520 Pre-Practicum: Advanced Interviewing; BHP 560 Theories of Behavior and Change; BHP 510 Lifespan Psychology, BHP 515 Advanced Social and Multicultural Psychology
