NRS 3221 - Professional Practice: Nursing Care of Children and Adolescent and Families

The course focuses on the specialized health care needs of the child-rearing family. The family unit’s health responses are emphasized as essential to the promotion and maintenance of the child and adolescent’s health. Students develop the necessary knowledge base to provide developmentally and culturally competent care and teaching for pediatric nursing. The course provides the necessary knowledge base to maintain optimal health in the pediatric population with acute and/or chronic illness through the promotion of wellness behaviors in the child and family.
