NRS 3301 - Professional Practice: Nursing Care of Childbearing Women and Families 2 Hour(s) The course focuses on the specialized health care needs of the childbearing women and families. The family unit’s health responses are emphasized as essential to the promotion and maintenance of the mother and newborn’s health. Students develop the necessary knowledge base to provide developmentally and culturally competent care including patient/family teaching for pregnancy, delivery, and newborn nursing.
